The Yellow Wallpaper
A downloadable game
The Yellow Wallpaper is an atmospheric, first‑person walking simulator that reimagines Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s classic tale through a contemporary lens. You play as Kayla, a young woman who retreats to a secluded Victorian mansion after a life‑shattering incident in the city leaves her craving anonymity and healing. The estate feels frozen in time—oil lamps still line the hallways, dust chokes ornate mouldings, and every floorboard sighs like it remembers better days. At first, the isolation seems restorative.
Driven by narrative discovery rather than combat, The Yellow Wallpaper invites you to wander, observe, and interpret. Every creak, diary page, and distorted reflection deepens an atmosphere of psychological dread, echoing Gilman’s themes of confinement and mental unraveling while crafting a fresh, immersive story of grief, obsession, and the thin veneer separating sanity from something monstrous behind the paper.

This game is the result of an overly ambitious English student who thought she could make a game in two weeks with little knowledge and little-er time.
